RETAIL POLICIES

  • RETURNS

    If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) request within 10 business days of the receipt of the product. If the item is returned unopened in the original box, we will exchange it, offer you store credit, or offer you a refund, less 25% restocking fee, based on your original method of payment. The product must be returned within 10 business days of the issuance of the RMA. All products must be packed in the original packaging, including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that shipped with the product. A 15% open box fee in addition to the 25% restocking fee (totaling 40%) will be assessed on any sealed product that is opened or removed from its original packaging.

    Please note that we do not permit the return of the following products:

    1. Special orders and products that are custom configured to your specifications.
    2. Products sold “as is” or “used” or that have been installed or used after receipt.
    3. Firearms, once transferred to buyer.
    4. Illumination devices, electronic sights, optics and night vision equipment.

    NOTE: We recommend that you use a carrier that offers shipment tracking for all returns, and either insure your package for safe return or declare the full value of the shipment so that you are protected if the shipment is lost or damaged in transit. If you chose not to use a carrier that offers tracking and insure or declare the full value of the product, you will be responsible for any loss or damage to the product during shipping.

    The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers limited tracking capabilities and that there is a 30-calendar-day waiting period before USPS will initiate a trace. The customer is responsible for shipping charges both ways on returns, as well as for shipping charges on shipments that are refused.

    Other items available for sale not listed on this website include discontinued parts or parts for firearms no longer produced. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding parts for firearms no longer produced (such as Vietnam era upper receiver units, obsolete fire control parts, etc.).

    All items on this website are subject to change without notice. This includes item availability, one-of-a-kind items, and pricing.

  • USED FIREARMS

    The seller provides all descriptions for used items. All descriptions for used items are honest and based on actual items being offered for sale. Items being sold in this manner will be marked as such. All sales on used items are final. Photos will be provided when available. All machine guns are considered used unless otherwise noted.

  • GENERAL FIREARM SALES

    All firearms, magazines, receivers and restricted law enforcement items are sold and shipped in accordance with all existing federal, state and local laws and regulations. Many of the firearms, magazines and parts for sale on this website may be restricted or prohibited in your area. Please check your local and state regulations before ordering.

    All new firearms are shipped in the original manufacturer’s box, with magazine(s), accessories and applicable warranty. Firearms requiring warranty work must be returned to the factory within 1 year of purchase for repair. Accessories and special order items not normally sold by our store will not be covered under warranty even if these products are part of an integrated firearms package, unless we have guaranteed the entire package in writing. Please contact the original manufacturer for warranty information on all accessories and special order items.

  • OTACTICAL ONLINE VS. FAMILY ARMORY IN-STORE PURCHASING

    We want our customers to understand that for most businesses, shopping online is different than shopping in a retail store. For example, there are different overhead costs (labor, utilities, insurance, etc.) factored in for items acquired in-store versus products acquired online. Products discovered through OTACTICAL (online) may not be available in the FAMILY ARMORY (retail) store, and even when items are carried in both locations, their prices are likely to be different.

    Only those orders placed and billed online through OTACTICAL will receive the “online price” and will be subject the online store policies. Purchases made in the FAMILY ARMORY physical store will receive the “in-store” price and will be subject to in-store policies.

  • OTACTICAL ONLINE VS. FAMILY ARMORY IN-STORE AVAILABILITY

    “IN STOCK ONLINE” from OTACTICAL does not mean the same thing as “IN STOCK IN STORE” from FAMILY ARMORY. The quantities available in the online store reflect the quantities on hand at the warehouse/distributor level, NOT the quantities on hand in the FAMILY ARMORY physical store. In other words, placing an order online does not mean that the item is available from immediate pickup in the FAMILY ARMORY store. FAMILY ARMORY cannot fulfill orders placed through OTACTICAL with in-store inventory.

  • FIREARM MANUFACTURER DEFECTS

    Once the FFL dealer, FAMILY ARMORY or OTACTICAL, has transferred a firearm to the consumer, it CANNOT be returned for any reason. We understand some manufacturer defects/problems may not be identifiable upon initial inspection. However, if the defect(s) is found AFTER the transfer, the firearm must be returned directly to the manufacturer for replacement or repair, subject to that manufacturer’s policies.

    Non-returns for firearms is common business practice. Big box stores like Academy, Cabela’s, and Bass Pro Shop have similar policies in place. Neither OTACTICAL nor FAMILY ARMORY is a warranty – repair station. We cannot perform warranty services. Please contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to proceed with a defect using the information found in the firearm manual.

  • FIREARM RETURNS & EXCHANGES

    All firearm sales are final. There are no returns or exchanges on firearms. This is common business practice. Please conduct due diligence on the UPC # or item # or product # on the manufacturer’s website or through the manufacturer’s customer service before submitting your order. (For example, because we obtain product images from distributors for use on this website, the images used on this website may not always represent the actual item despite our best effort.) Once submitted, your order is processed as quickly as possible, making changes impossible. Ordering the wrong firearm or changing your mind about a purchase after ordering is not the responsibility of FAMILY ARMORY or OTACTICAL. Firearms and products purchased online cannot be redeemed or exchanged with firearms or products in the store. All sales are “FINAL” on firearms: no returns, refunds or exchanges.

  • FAMILY ARMORY “IN-STORE” DISCOUNT PACKAGES

    Discounts normally awarded to FAMILY ARMORY ANNUAL MEMBERS for FAMILY ARMORY “in-store” purchases are non-applicable to purchases made online through OTACTICAL. Completing purchases through the online store indicates an understanding and agreement that respective discounts and incentives will not apply to the final purchase price or upon pick in store, and that no additional services, discounts, or monetary values are due in lieu of discounts or incentives.

  • FAMILY ARMORY GIFT CARDS

    FAMILY ARMORY gift cards can be applied to “in-store” purchases only. FAMILY ARMORY gift cards cannot be applied to purchases made online through OTACTICAL.

  • IMAGES USED IN ONLINE ADVERTS

    The pictures used in our online adverts are either a manufacturer’s photo or a stock photo and is meant to be representative of the item listed. Some pictures show extra accessories, such as scopes, which are not included with the product. Please be aware of this and read the item’s description before placing your order.

  • SHIPPING TIME

    In stock means in warehouse — not in store. Products ordered online must be shipped to us for you to pick up or for us to then ship to you. Arrival at the store can vary greatly, but we usually have your item in less than a week. Once it arrives we will contact you by e-mail or phone to schedule a pick-up or we will reship it to you the following business day.

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE

    If you encounter any problems with your order or the checkout process, or if you have any questions about the status of your order, simply contact our customer service staff through our Contact Us page.

  • CONSUMER DATA PRIVACY

    We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

    The Credit Card Billing Information, Shipping Information, and Contact Information in our checkout process are required in order to process your order and deliver the product to you. We store some information for accounting reasons. Your information will not be shown to third parties not involved in the transaction, nor used to send you any unrequested information. The entire Checkout process is handled through a secure SSL-encrypted connection.

    The Credit Card Billing Information is sent directly to our payment provider who processes your credit card transaction. The credit card information is neither recorded nor stored by us, and it can only be accessed by our payment provider. Each transaction has a very high level of security. Your credit card details are sent directly to the payment provider over a secure SSL-encrypted connection. They are not processed on our servers at any stage of the transaction, nor are they stored on our server.

  • SECURE TRANSMISSION

    All information collected during the checkout process is transmitted via industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) featuring 128-bit encryption. A Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate creates an encrypted link between a website and a visitor’s Web browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the website and the browser remains private and secure.

  • ORDER FULFILLMENT

    All orders are shipped promptly from our warehouse or in-store inventory within 3 – 10 business days using UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Tracking numbers are available for items shipped via UPS and FedEx.

  • ONLINE PRICE & DESCRIPTION ERRORS

    Our online inventory changes every day. Occasionally an item may appear on the site by mistake or the item’s description may contain a typographical error. We do not guarantee that titles, descriptions, pictures or prices on our site are error-free. We reserve the right to refuse any order including but not limited to orders for items with errors in the description or price. In the event that we cancel an order we will not charge the customer’s credit card or we will refund the money.

    If an item’s description contains an error such as incorrect photo, price, accessory or description and a customer makes the order, we will not process the order without first contacting the customer. If the order is mistakenly shipped, we may advise the customer to return the item in an unopened condition and we will refund the customer. By placing an order, the customer agrees that Family Armory will be the final arbiter of discrepancies in the online catalog.

  • AMMUNITION PURCHASES

    You must be 18 or older to purchase rifle or shotgun ammunition and 21 or older to purchase handgun ammunition. All ammunition will be shipped ground with adult signature required. Always make sure to use the correct ammunition for your specific firearms. Check your local laws for any other regulations.

  • SMALL BUSINESS

    OTACTICAL is an online sporting goods store who has an exclusive partnership with FAMILY ARMORY.

    FAMILY ARMORY is not a multi-billion dollar big box store with hundreds of locations across the United States. FAMILY ARMORY is a family-owned and family-operated small business indoor gun range with a total staff of less than 10 individuals. Thank you so much for showing an interest in us and our services. We strive to provide excellent customer service, likewise we also strive to provide excellent working conditions and a living wage for our employees. We have structured our pricing to achieve this. By running our business sustainably, we can ensure that we will still be here both for our employees and for our customers in the years to come.

  • FIREARM TRANSFERS

    Neither OTACTICAL nor FAMILY ARMORY ships firearms directly individuals who are not in possession of a Federal Firearms License (FFL). Instead, OTACTICAL ships firearms to the local FFL dealer of your choice in your state of residence. Any legitimate gun store or dealer has an FFL license; gun stores, pawn shops, and collectors may also have the required license.

    For Midland-Odessa & Permian Basin firearm orders, OTACTICAL automatically ships firearms to FAMILY ARMORY. Purchases made from OTACTICAL and picked up at FAMILY ARMORY have no additional transfer fee.

    If you do not wish to use FAMILY ARMORY as your final transfer dealer, it is your personal responsibility to contact your chosen FFL dealer to arrange the transfer between OTACTICAL and them. (Please note that additional shipping charges may apply when using a FFL other than Family Armory.) It is also your personal responsibility to inform OTACTICAL of your chosen FFL through email. When you let us know who your chosen FFL is, we will exchange license information via email as part of the transfer process, and we will ship your order to the address listed on their FFL.

  • CHOSEN DEALER TRANSFER FEES

    Be aware that it is customary for your local dealer to charge a transaction fee at the time you pick up your purchase. This transfer fee is strictly between you and your local dealer. By purchasing a firearm from us, you acknowledge that you may have to pay your chosen dealer a fee for transferring the firearm to you. OTACTICAL has a “$0 TRANSFER FEE” agreement with FAMILY ARMORY. When you purchase firearms through OTACTICAL AND use FAMILY ARMORY as the transfer dealer, there is no transfer fee.

  • ARRANGING FOR A SHIPMENT & TRANSFER

    1. Find a licensed FFL dealer in your area. Contact the dealer and let them know you would like to arrange a transfer FROM FAMILY ARMORY. Be sure to ask about their FFL transfer fee.
    2. Arrange the transfer with your FFL dealer and provide your dealer with our e-mail address where they can send a copy of their FFL. Neither OTACTICAL nor FAMILY ARMORY will arrange the transfer on your behalf.
    3. Once you have chosen an FFL for your transfer, please indicate the dealer’s name and email address on your order so we know where to ship your firearm. We will exchange licenses through email. Please include your ORDER NUMBER on any correspondence you or your FFL may send us.
    4. It is best to locate an FFL dealer before you place your order; however, you can place your order first and then provide us with your FFL dealer info before we ship. We will hold your order until we have the required information.
  • SHIPMENT OF ORDERS

    1. INTERNATIONAL: We do not offer international shipping. No exceptions.
    2. NON-FIREARMS: With the exception of firearms, we will ship all orders to the billing address of the credit card holder. We do this in order to prevent fraudulent orders.
    3. FIREARMS: Once you have a chosen a local FFL dealer to handle your firearm transfer, and after your dealer and FAMILY ARMORY have exchanged licenses through email, we will ship your firearm order to the physical address listed on your dealer’s license. Before we ship your firearm, however, we will share your contact information with your chosen FFL dealer. In order to prevent an illegal straw purchase, the person listed as paying for the firearm(s) on the order and the person picking it/them up from the chosen FFL dealer must be the same. You will need a current and valid drivers license or other official government issued photo identification with a current and valid resident address in order to begin filling the required paperwork. (P.O. Boxes do not qualify as a legal resident address for firearm transfers.) Out of State residents may pick up rifle or shotgun purchases, provided the firearm is legal in your original State of residence.
    4. AMMUNITION: Neither OTACTICAL nor FAMILY ARMORY ships ammunition. All ammunition purchased online from OTACTICAL must be picked up at the FAMILY ARMORY retail store.
  • NICS DENIAL & FIREARM RETURNS

    If you have ordered a firearm from OTACTICAL and receive a NICS DENIAL at FAMILY ARMORY, you have a few options. You can choose to appeal the FBI’s decision to issue a denial. Expect to wait on the order of weeks or months for a resolution.

    For us to accept a firearm return under this NICS DENIAL condition, the firearm must neither have been previously transferred nor fired. Upon return, the firearm will be inspected. If the firearm passes inspection, will issue a partial refund as there will be a 25% re-stocking fee imposed. In addition to the re-stocking fee, any costs or charges levied by the supplier and shipping costs will be also deducted from the total amount refunded. BEFORE PURCHASING A FIREARM ONLINE, please ensure that you meet all legal Federal, state, and local requirements to possess a firearm in order to avoid this situation in the first place.
